<"Of course," Dark said with a courteous bow. "But you know, I never labeled you as the shy type," he added as he turned his back, leaning against the door frame. "You seemed more adventurous than that.">

<She rolled her eyes and stripped off the short she had been wearing, and threw it into a corner. Over her head, she threw a black v-neck shirt, long sleeved of course. Black pants went with, replacing the jeans. She pulled a pair of flat soled boots onto her feet. A belt, carrying multiple knives of varying length and make strapped onto her waist. Two smaller knifes fitted into the sheathes in her boots.>
"Almost done," <she muttered to noone in particular.>
<She pulled on a pair of leather gloves, her favorite items. There were tiny studs meant to run along the bones connecting her knuckles and the first joint of her fingers. Inside each stud there was a tiny amount of the same poison found in blue ringed octopi. She proffered it. It was fast, and there was virtually no cure. When the stud was pushed down with enough force, say, a punch, the poison would seep out. Easy enough. She threw on a black coat over the ensemble and grinned at Dark.>
"Adventurous enough for you?"

So maybe I'm wrong.
But at least I took the chance.

<"Adventurous, yes," Dark said with a chuckle, lowering his head. "You don't exactly go the 'femme fatale' route, do you? You're covered from head to toe with weaponry." He looked up at her, once again turning his head in that odd, whimsical way. "All the same, I like it.">

<She laughed again.>
"I do like do be well protected. But thats all for show. Femme fatale can work if done right, but I prefer scaring people shitless."
<Maya stretched her arms out and flexed her fingers in the gloves. She frowned and unclipped the knives from her belt.>
"On the other hand, I think I'll travel lightly tonight. Don't think I'll need to torture anyone, do you?"

<"No, probably not," Dark replied with a mischievous chuckle. "So... anything else before we go?">

"Well ,I have a minor armory down the hall. You can go raid that if you want. I tend to collect a lot of harmful crap."
<She gave him a bright, if slightly cheesy grin.>

<Dark flexed his weakened right hand, listening to the leather glove squeak and grind as he slowly moved the burned digits. "Anything helpful back there? I'd love to have my hand working well again.">

<She took his hand and peeled the glove off gingerly.>
"You're burned," <she said automatically. She went to the other side of her room to a warped draw. She pulled it open with considerable force, and ran her hands over the various jars within. She selected an older one, and gave it to Dark.>
"It might help. I had a nasty accident with hot oil before."

<Dark looked at the jar for a few moments, then slowly turned his burned hand and held the jar in his palm. Carefully, he removed the cap with his uninjured hand, and then held up the jar and inspected it again. With a shrug, he dipped his burned fingers into the cap, and he felt excruciating pain surge up through his arm as the nerve endings in his fingers repaired themselves. "Gah... yikes, babe," he rasped. "It works, that's for sure. I can feel my fingertips.">

<"Well, I should have expected it, if I'd known what this does," Dark replied, noting the illegible label on the jar. A few pained moments passed as he covered the remainder of his forearm with the strange salve. His skin burned with life as his nerves awakened, and soon an overwhelming feeling of numbness filled his right side. "Thank you, Maya," the assassin said quietly, taking a step forward and embracing her. "Nobody could pull quite a trick like that before. I owe you. Bigtime.">

<She quite gladly hugged him back.>
"Hell, you know me. Always the helpful type." <She touched the newly renewed skin in curiosity.>
"I didn't know it worked that well though."

<She gave a mock salute.>
"That'd be smart, I suppose. You don't happen to know any viral syndicate safe-houses do you?"
<Maya was now wearing a rather evil grin on her face.>
